Join the Great North Innocence Project for a conversation about FREE: My Search for Meaning by exoneree Amanda Knox.
FREE: My Search for Meaning is Amanda Knoxโs memoir about her life after wrongful imprisonment in Italy. FREE recounts how Knox survived prison, the mistakes she made and misadventures she had reintegrating into society, and culminates in the untold story of her return to Italy and the extraordinary relationship she’s built with the man who sent her to prison.
*Note that FREE is Knoxโs second memoir; her first is titled Waiting to Be Heard and details her wrongful conviction for the murder of her roommate while studying abroad in Italy. Waiting to Be Heard is not a prerequisite to reading FREE, but is a gripping read nonetheless.
Our community meeting will also include a presentation on GNIPโs emerging client services and support program by GNIP Director of Communications and Community Outreach Hayley Poxleitner.
At the Great North Innocence Project, education is a central tenet of our work.
This discussion invites supporters, advocates, and community members to come together to ask and answer, what are the systemic and human causes and consequences of wrongful convictions?
